In any event of a work stoppage, strike, lock out or anything of this nature in the NFL, the GFL season will freeze along with the standings and statistics. The GFL will resume when the NFL dispute has been settled. A temporary revision in the schedule, rules and regulations may be necessary when play resumes to accommodate for the delay. This revision will be immediately processed and distributed to each football club as soon as possible.

A work stoppage also indicates a risk of a season cancellation. Upon official announcement by the NFL of the season being cancelled, the GFL will end the season prematurely. At this point, the league will take one of two actions, execute a simulated post-season or withhold the collected prize money. In a simulated post-season, the top clubs with the highest possibility of winning will be awarded the prize money. The qualifying clubs for the simulated post-season will be those clubs in a position to qualify at the time the season is cancelled. Tie breaking procedures will be used to determine the Iron Bowl Champion and Iron Bowl Finalist. In withholding the prize money, no winner will be declared and the prize money for the following season would increase. In choosing either of the two actions, the owners will vote prior to the beginning of the season.

Should a player on a club roster be injured, sit out or any other circumstance which may cause him to refrain from playing, the club is still responsible for that player. These are situations that occur in the game, the league cannot be held responsible for them. It is the sole decision of the club on how to deal with that player. There are several player movement options a club can choose from to correct the situation.

There will be no collaboration among two or more clubs. This is an unfair practice and prevents fair play. Fair competition must be maintained. All activities must comply with the terms and conditions outlined. Illegal transactions will be reversed and the clubs committing the infraction will be severely penalized. The league through reversal or suspension will deal with improper procedures. All fines are applied to the pending season only. Consistent and repeat offence was be reviewed by the league. Upon review, the league has the option of terminating the membership of a franchise. The following is a current list of infractions owners may not commit, but is not limited to the following:
- clubs cannot loan players to other clubs
- clubs may not collaborate against other clubs
- trades must benefit both clubs
- players who have played a game cannot return to a previous club in same season
- clubs may not throw games to aid another club
- clubs may not throw games to improve their draft position

In communicating electronically with other football club owners or the league office, there is always a risk of the message not being received by the intended party. It is up to the individual to ensure that their message has been received. This includes all forms of communication, but is not limited to telephones, facsimiles, mail, electronic mail and paging. The league is not liable for transmissions that are misinterpreted, interrupted, misdirected or not received.
